# Wheewise documentation > Complete guide to Wheewise: the buyer app, the dealer app, the AI assistant (MCP) and the Site API for a dealer's own website. Generated from https://www.wheewise.com/docs. # Getting started with Wheewise > What Wheewise is, the three apps, how accounts work, and where to go next. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/getting-started Wheewise is an online marketplace for buying and selling pre-owned **cars, bikes, commercial vehicles, taxis and leases** from dealers across India. Buyers browse for free; dealers list their stock, talk to buyers and manage their shop. ## The apps | App | Address | Who it is for | | --- | --- | --- | | Buyer app | [www.wheewise.com](https://www.wheewise.com) | Anyone looking for a vehicle. Browsing needs no account; you sign in to enquire, save, compare and chat. | | Dealer app | [dealer.wheewise.com](https://dealer.wheewise.com) | Dealers: stock, chats, test drives, leads, reviews, reports, shop page and website settings, and AI assistant access. | | Association app | association.wheewise.com | Dealer associations: a read-only overview of their member shops, and invitations for new dealers. | | Shop website | .wheewise.com | Every dealer shop gets its own address showing its live vehicles, in one of four looks. | ## Accounts and signing in - There are **no passwords**. Sign in with **Google**, or with a **six-digit code emailed to you**. The same account works on all Wheewise apps. - An account has one role: buyer, dealer or association. If you sign in to the wrong app, you are sent to the right one. - To become a dealer, open the dealer app and create a dealer account. See [Set up your shop](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/dealers-set-up-your-shop). ## Where to go next - Looking for a vehicle: [Find a vehicle](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/buyers-find-a-vehicle), then [Contact a dealer](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/buyers-contact-dealers). - Selling vehicles: [Set up your shop](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/dealers-set-up-your-shop), [List vehicles](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/dealers-list-vehicles), [Run your shop](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/dealers-run-your-shop). - Let an AI assistant do the work or build your own website: [Connect an AI assistant](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/ai-assistant-setup) and [Build your own website](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/ai-build-your-website). - Something not working: [Troubleshooting](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/troubleshooting). --- # Find a vehicle > Search and filter listings, read a vehicle page, check an EMI estimate, and save or compare vehicles. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/buyers-find-a-vehicle ## Browse and search - The **home page** shows newly added vehicles and category shortcuts. **Browse** (`/browse`) lists everything. - Use the **search box** in the header for a make, model or city (for example "Swift" or "Kochi"). - Browse has a filter panel: **category** (cars, bikes, commercial, taxi, lease), **city**, **price range**, **year**, **fuel type** and more. Filters combine, and the list updates as you change them. Sort with the pills above the grid. - Pick your **city** from the header (the site may offer to detect it the first time you visit). Listings near you are easier to see and visit. - The site is available in **English, Malayalam and Hindi**: change the language from the header or menu. ## Reading a vehicle page - A **photo gallery** (tap a photo for full screen), the **price**, key facts (year, kilometres, fuel, transmission) and the full **specification** list. - The **dealer** who listed it, with a link to their shop page, their address and a map preview that opens in Google Maps. - **Enquire** starts a chat with the dealer about this vehicle. See [Contact a dealer](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/buyers-contact-dealers). - **Wishlist** (the heart) saves it. **Compare** adds it to a side-by-side comparison. - **Similar listings** and the dealer's **reviews** appear lower on the page. ## Finance and the EMI calculator - A **Finance available** badge appears only when the dealer has turned finance on for that exact vehicle. It means the dealer offers financing on it. It does **not** mean you are approved, and it says nothing about interest or lender terms. - The **EMI calculator** estimates a monthly payment from the price, a down payment, an interest rate and a tenure. It starts at a **20% down payment, 9.5% a year and 60 months**; change any of them. It is an **estimate, not a loan offer**. ## Shops - A **shop page** (`/store/`) shows the dealer's logo, cover photo, about text, address and hours, their live vehicles by category, and their reviews. Tap **Notify** to be told when the shop lists something new. - Browse all shops at [Shops](https://www.wheewise.com/shops). ## Wishlist and compare - [Wishlist](https://www.wheewise.com/wishlist) lists the vehicles you saved. Sign in to use it. Remove one by tapping its heart again. - [Compare](https://www.wheewise.com/compare) puts the specifications of several vehicles side by side so differences are easy to see. --- # Contact a dealer > Enquire about a vehicle, chat (text and voice), ask for a test drive, get notifications and leave a review. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/buyers-contact-dealers ## Enquire and chat 1. Open a vehicle and tap **Enquire**. You need to be signed in. A chat with that dealer opens, with an opening message already sent. 2. Find all your conversations in **Chat** (`/enquiries`). There is **one conversation per dealer**: every vehicle you asked that dealer about appears as a card inside the same thread. 3. Type a message, or tap the **microphone** to record a short voice note (tap again to stop and send). 4. The dealer replies in the same thread. You get a notification when they do. ## Ask for a test drive - In the conversation, tap **Request a test drive**. This sends the dealer a request; it is **not an automatic booking**. - The dealer confirms a time (you are notified when they do), or they suggest another time in the chat. ## Chat safely - Meet in a public place for a first visit, and check the vehicle's papers in person before paying. - Never pay a deposit or share card details, OTPs or passwords in chat. Wheewise does not take payments for vehicles. - Read the [chat safety tips](https://www.wheewise.com/settings/chat-safety-tips) in your settings, and report a problem under **Settings, Help and grievance**. ## Notifications - The **bell** and the [Notifications](https://www.wheewise.com/notifications) page list: new messages, a shop you follow listing a new vehicle, a vehicle you enquired about being sold, a confirmed test drive, and account security notices. - Turn **push notifications** on for this device under **Settings, Notifications**, and choose which events you hear about. ## Reviews - On a shop's page, signed-in buyers can leave a **star rating**, some text and an optional photo. Posting again edits your earlier review: one review per buyer per shop. - The shop can reply publicly under your review. --- # Your buyer account and settings > Sign in, edit your profile, language and notifications, manage security and sessions, and delete your account. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/buyers-account ## Signing in - Tap **Login**, then choose **Continue with Google** or **Continue with email** and enter the six-digit code Wheewise emails you. - New here? Choose **Create an account**. There is nothing to remember: no password. - You stay signed in on this device until you sign out. ## Settings | Section | What you can do | | --- | --- | | Profile | Your name, mobile number and picture. Link or unlink your Google account. | | Appearance | Light, dark, or follow your device. | | Notifications | Turn push notifications on or off for this device and pick what you hear about. | | Privacy | What data Wheewise holds, your consents, and how to request your data. | | Sign-in and security | How you can sign in, your active sessions, and **Sign out of all devices**. | | Help and grievance | File a complaint and track its ticket. | | Chat safety tips | Short advice for safe dealings. | ## Delete your account Under **Settings, Security** you can delete your account. You confirm, enter an emailed code, and confirm again. Your wishlist, chats and profile are removed. This cannot be undone. ## Help from the assistant The [Help page](https://www.wheewise.com/help) has answers and an AI assistant that can look up live vehicles, explain how any feature works and work out an EMI estimate. It is for questions, not for changing your account. --- # Set up your shop > Create a dealer account, fill in your shop details, go live, and choose how your shop website looks. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/dealers-set-up-your-shop ## Create your dealer account 1. Open [dealer.wheewise.com](https://dealer.wheewise.com) and choose to create an account (sign in with Google or an emailed code). 2. Enter your business name, city and mobile number. No GST number or paperwork is needed to start. 3. You land on a short setup form for your shop page. ## Shop details | Field | Notes | | --- | --- | | Shop name | Must be unique. It also becomes your shop address, for example `zaki.wheewise.com`. | | Logo and cover photo | Upload from your device. Buyers see them on your shop page. | | About | A short description (up to 500 characters). | | Address, city, map link | Address and city are required. Add a Google Maps link so buyers get directions. | | Business hours | Free text, up to 200 characters. | | Gallery | Photos of your showroom or yard. | Edit all of this at any time under **Storefront** in the menu (also in **Settings, Storefront**). ## Going live - A shop becomes **active** once it has **5 vehicles listed and published**. Until then the dashboard shows how many more you need. - Active shops show a verified tick on their shop page. - When you publish a vehicle, buyers who tapped **Notify** on your shop are told (at most once a day for the same vehicle). ## Your shop website Every shop has its own address, `.wheewise.com`, showing its live vehicles. In **Settings, Storefront**, under **Your shop website**, pick one of four looks and an optional **hero image** for the top of the page: | Template | Look | | --- | --- | | Showroom | Bright and clean, with a banner photo. | | Luxe | Dark and gold, with a split-screen top. | | Bold | Big type, hard edges, a full-width photo. | | Earth | Warm sand and green, with soft rounded cards. | The hero image must be a photo you uploaded in the app. You can also show or hide your **sold count** there. For a fully custom website, see [Build your own website](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/ai-build-your-website). --- # List and manage vehicles > Add a vehicle in three steps, understand the two kinds of status, price it, switch finance on, mark it sold and track costs. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/dealers-list-vehicles ## Add a vehicle Tap **Add vehicle** (the red button, or **+ List a Vehicle**). Choose the category, then how to start: - **RC image upload**: photograph the Registration Certificate and the app reads the printed details into the form. It never guesses what it cannot read, and you must review every field before saving. It is text extraction, not a government check. - **Manual entry**: type the details yourself. The form has three steps. Required fields are marked with `*`. 1. **Vehicle**: registration, make, model, year, fuel, transmission, kilometres, condition, document status (insurance and pollution validity), and optional specs and internal notes. 2. **Pricing**: the asking price (required), the city, and a description. 3. **Photos**: add photos (at least three is a good minimum), then choose to **publish now** or **save as a draft**. A form in progress is remembered on your device, so you can leave and come back. ## Two kinds of status | Status | Values | What it does | | --- | --- | --- | | Listing status | Draft, Active, Paused, Sold | Controls whether **buyers can see** the vehicle. Only **Active** vehicles are public. | | Internal status | Evaluation, Purchased, Refurbishment, Ready, Listed, Reserved, Sold, Delivered, Cancelled | Where the vehicle is in **your own** process. Buyers never see it. | > The two are independent. Moving the internal status forward does **not** publish the vehicle, and pausing a listing does not change its internal status. Set both on the vehicle's own page. ## Day-to-day actions - **Inventory** (a table) and **Vehicles** (cards) both list your stock with filters for status, fuel, price and how long a vehicle has been in stock. - **Edit price**: change the asking price from the list or the vehicle page. It is visible to buyers immediately. - **Finance available**: a toggle per vehicle. Buyers see a Finance badge and the EMI calculator link only when it is on. Existing vehicles start off. - **Mark sold**: on the vehicle's page, record the real sale price. This sets both statuses to Sold, removes it from public listings and tells buyers who enquired. Use only this path for a sale: the Reports page is based on it. - **Delete** a vehicle from the Vehicles page if it was listed by mistake. ## Internal financials A vehicle's page has an **Internal financials** section: purchase price, reconditioning cost, other expenses, minimum selling price, chassis and engine numbers and number of owners. **Buyers never see any of it.** Stock cost is purchase price plus reconditioning plus other expenses; expected profit is the asking price minus stock cost. --- # Run your shop day to day > The dashboard, chats, test drives, leads, reviews and reports, and what each number and chart means. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/dealers-run-your-shop ## Finding your way around - On a computer, the **left menu** has: Dashboard, Inventory, Vehicles, Reports, Chat, Notifications, Reviews, Leads, Test drives, Storefront, Help and Settings. - On a phone, the bottom bar has Dashboard, Vehicles, a red **+** to add a vehicle, Chat and Profile. Test drives, Reports, Reviews and Leads sit in a bar under the top of the dashboard, with a count when something is new. - The **bell** and **Notifications** show new messages, leads, test drives and reviews. You can switch on **push notifications** on your phone. ## The dashboard - **Key figures** (computer): expected gross profit, stock cost and expected selling value, plus counts of vehicles by stage. - **Where your vehicles are**: a ring chart of your stock by stage. - **Money tied up in unsold stock**: bars for stock cost, selling value and gross profit, with the amounts written next to them. - **Stock ageing**: how many vehicles have been with you 0 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90 and over 90 days. Old stock is harder to sell; tap a bucket to see those vehicles. - **Attention required**: vehicles listed publicly before they are marked ready, ready vehicles not yet published, stock older than 90 days, and vehicles missing a purchase price (you can fix those right there). - **Recent vehicles**: your newest five, with asking price against cost. ## Chat **Chat** has one conversation per buyer, with every vehicle they asked about in the same thread. Reply with text or voice notes. Unread messages show a count on the menu. ## Test drives **Test drives** lists requests. A new one is **Requested**. You can **Confirm** it (pick a date and time that is still ahead; the buyer is notified), mark it **Completed** or **No-show**, or **Cancel** it. ## Leads **Leads** are enquiries and test-drive requests from visitors **without an account**, sent from your shop website (`.wheewise.com`) or from your own website built with the Site API. Each shows name, phone, email, the vehicle, any message and, for test drives, the time they would like. There is no chat for leads: call or email them. Opening the page marks them read. ## Reviews **Reviews** shows what buyers said, with a rating summary and how many reviews are unanswered. Reply **publicly** under a review, or send the reviewer a **private message**. Replies are limited per hour to prevent spam. ## Reports **Reports** is computed only from your own records: vehicles sold, revenue and realised profit from actual sale prices, current stock cost and expected profit, and stock ageing. Nothing is estimated or invented. They are private and never shown to buyers. --- # Dealer settings, section by section > What every section of Settings in the dealer app does. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/dealers-settings Open **Settings** from the menu (the gear). On a phone it is a list; on a computer, a menu on the left. | Section | What it is for | | --- | --- | | Profile and contact | Your name, mobile number and WhatsApp number. Verify your phone for sign-in codes. | | Appearance | Light, dark or follow the device. Saved per browser. | | Storefront | What buyers see: logo, cover, about text, address, hours, gallery. Also the **Show sold count** switch and **Your shop website**: template and hero image. | | Business and tax details | Legal name, entity type, tax ID (GSTIN) and PAN where required, and customer-care contact. Internal and legal; changes are recorded. | | AI assistant access | Create assistant tokens, the site key and the websites allowed to use it. See [Connect an AI assistant](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/ai-assistant-setup). | | Listing defaults and availability | Values pre-filled on every new vehicle, and the auto-reply buyers get when you are away. | | Notification preferences | Which events notify you and whether by push. | | Privacy and data | Export your data, your consents, a nominee, and account deletion. | | Legal and policies | Terms, privacy policy and the grievance officer. | | Help and grievance | File a complaint and track its ticket. | | Sign-in and security | Sign-in methods and active sessions. **Sign out of all devices** also revokes every AI assistant token. | | Plan and billing | Shown only when billing is switched on. | ## Help inside the dealer app **Help** in the menu opens an assistant that explains any dealer feature. It answers questions and does not change anything for you; to let an AI assistant act for you, use [AI assistant access](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/ai-assistant-setup). --- # Connect an AI assistant (MCP) > Let Claude or any MCP assistant manage your shop: create a token, connect it, choose read-only or changes allowed, and revoke it. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/ai-assistant-setup The **Wheewise MCP server** (`@wheewise-mcp/dealer`) connects an AI assistant to your dealer account. You describe what you want in plain words ("drop the Swift's price by 10,000 rupees", "what needs my attention today?") and the assistant does it through Wheewise. It only ever acts on **your own shop**, with a token you create and can switch off. ## Step 1: create an assistant token 1. In the dealer app open **Settings, AI assistant access**. 2. Under **Create a token**, give it a name (for example "Claude on my laptop"), choose how long it lasts (30 days, 90 days, a year, or until you revoke it). 3. Leave **Allow changes** **off** for a look-only token, or **on** if the assistant may change things. Then press **Create token**. 4. **Copy the token now.** It starts with `wwd_` and is shown only once. Treat it like a password. ## Step 2: add it to your assistant You need Node.js 20 or newer on the computer that runs the assistant. ### Claude Desktop Add this to `claude_desktop_config.json` and restart the app: ```json { "mcpServers": { "wheewise": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@wheewise-mcp/dealer"], "env": { "WHEEWISE_API_TOKEN": "wwd_your_token_here" } } } } ``` ### Claude Code ```bash claude mcp add wheewise --env WHEEWISE_API_TOKEN=wwd_your_token_here -- npx -y @wheewise-mcp/dealer ``` Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other MCP apps take the same `command`, `args` and `env`. ## Step 3: ask Try: "Give me a briefing on my shop". The server also offers ready-made prompts: **Build my own private website**, **Build my shop website** and **Daily shop briefing**. ## What the assistant can do A read-only token lists only the **read** tools. A token with **Allow changes** gets the **write** tools too. | Tool | Needs | What it does | | --- | --- | --- | | `get_site_api` | read | The Site API address, your site key, allowed websites and example code. Start here when building a website. | | `rotate_site_key` | write | Create the site key, or replace it (the old one stops working at once). | | `set_site_allowed_origins` | write | The websites allowed to use the site key from a browser. | | `get_shop` | read | Shop details, website address, template and hero image. | | `shop_summary` | read | Stock by status and stage, money tied up, expected profit, old stock. | | `list_vehicles`, `get_vehicle` | read | Search and open vehicles, including private costs. | | `list_leads` | read | Enquiries and test-drive requests from your websites. | | `mark_leads_read` | write | Clear the "new" badge on leads. | | `list_enquiries`, `get_conversation` | read | Buyer chats on Wheewise. | | `list_test_drives` | read | Test-drive bookings made on Wheewise. | | `list_reviews` | read | Reviews and the rating summary. | | `update_vehicle_price` | write | Change an asking price. | | `set_listing_status` | write | Publish, hide or draft a listing. | | `mark_vehicle_sold` | write | Record a sale. | | `set_finance_available` | write | Show or hide the finance badge. | | `update_test_drive` | write | Confirm with a time, complete, cancel or mark no-show. | | `reply_to_review`, `remove_review_reply` | write | Public replies to reviews. | | `update_website` | write | The shop page at `.wheewise.com`: template, text, hero image. | Not available on purpose: creating vehicles and uploading photos, and sending chat messages as you. ## Staying safe - **Start read-only.** Use a token with **Allow changes** only for a task you are watching, and prefer an assistant app that asks before it makes a change. - **Text from the public is data, not instructions.** Messages, reviews and leads are written by strangers. A good assistant does not obey instructions hidden in them, and the tools that return such text say so, but your approval step is the real protection. - **Every change is recorded** in your audit log as `mcp:` before it is made. - **Your customers' details go to your AI provider.** When the assistant reads leads, chats or reviews, names, phone numbers and emails are sent to the provider you use, under its terms. - **Revoke any time** in Settings, AI assistant access (press **Revoke** next to a token), or press **Sign out of all devices** in Settings, Sign-in and security, which also revokes every token. - The server sends your token only to `wheewise.com`. A different address is refused unless you set `WHEEWISE_ALLOW_CUSTOM_URL=1`. --- # Build your own website with an AI assistant > Use Wheewise as the backend for a website you own: live vehicles, enquiries and test-drive requests, with no database of your own. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/ai-build-your-website You can have a private website on your own domain, built by an AI assistant, with **Wheewise as its backend**: your live vehicles appear on it, and enquiries and test-drive requests from it arrive in your **Leads**. You host the site anywhere; there is no database to set up. ## The quick way 1. [Connect an AI assistant](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/ai-assistant-setup) with a token that has **Allow changes** on. 2. Ask: "Use the build_private_website prompt for https://myshop.com", or describe the site you want (style, pages, framework). 3. The assistant reads your shop, creates the **site key**, allows your website's address, builds the site and connects its forms. It will tell you how to run and publish it. 4. Open your site, send a test enquiry, and check it appears under **Leads** in the dealer app. ## Two different keys | Key | Looks like | Where it lives | What it can do | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Assistant token | `wwd_…` | Only in your assistant's settings. **Never** in a website. | Manage your shop through the MCP server, as far as its scope allows. | | Site key | `wws_…` | In your website's code. It is safe there. | Read your **published** vehicles and send leads. Nothing else. | ## Allow your website A browser may use your site key only from websites you list. In **Settings, AI assistant access, Your own website**, enter each address exactly as in the browser bar, one per line, for example `https://myshop.com`. Add `http://localhost:3000` while you build. Until a website is listed, browsers are refused. The assistant can do this for you with `set_site_allowed_origins`. > The list stops other websites' browsers from using your key. A script outside a browser can send any address, so the real protection is that the key can only read published listings and create leads, plus rate limits and a spam trap. ## A starting point A complete working site (vehicles, search, vehicle pages, enquiry and test-drive forms, no build step) is in the [example folder on GitHub](https://github.com/Wheewise/wheewise-mcp/tree/main/examples/private-site). Put your site key in `config.js`, allow its address, and open it. ## What leads look like - An **enquiry** carries name, phone, email, an optional message and optionally a vehicle. - A **test-drive request** also carries the vehicle and the time the visitor would like. It shows a **Test drive** badge in Leads. It is a request; you confirm the time with the visitor yourself. - You get a notification, up to five an hour; further leads are still saved. For the endpoints and fields, see the [Site API reference](https://www.wheewise.com/docs/site-api-reference). --- # Site API reference > The endpoints a dealer's own website calls: shop, vehicles, one vehicle, and leads. Authentication, limits and errors. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/site-api-reference Base address: `https://dealer.wheewise.com/api/site/v1`. A machine-readable description is always current at [openapi.json](https://dealer.wheewise.com/api/site/v1/openapi.json). ## Authentication - Send the site key in the `X-Wheewise-Site-Key` header (or as `?key=` on a `GET`). - From a browser, the request's origin must be on the allowed list; otherwise the answer is `403` and the browser blocks it. A server call without an `Origin` header works with the key alone. - Preflight (`OPTIONS`) requests are answered for any origin. Only `GET`, `POST` and `OPTIONS` are allowed; credentials and cookies are never used. ## GET /shop The shop's public details: `name`, `city`, `address`, `bio`, `business_hours`, `map_link`, `logo_url`, `cover_photo_url`, `hero_image_url`, `gallery_urls`, `live_vehicles`, `wheewise_page`. ## GET /vehicles The dealer's **published** vehicles only (drafts, paused and sold ones never appear). | Query | Meaning | | --- | --- | | `limit` (1 to 50, default 20), `offset` | Paging. | | `q` | Searches make, model and variant. | | `make`, `category`, `fuel` | Filters. `fuel` is PETROL, DIESEL, CNG, ELECTRIC or HYBRID. An unknown category or fuel returns 400. | | `min_price`, `max_price`, `min_year` | Ranges. | | `sort` | `newest` (default), `price_asc`, `price_desc`, `year_desc`. | Returns `{ "total": 31, "vehicles": [ … ] }`. Each vehicle has `id`, `slug`, `url`, `make`, `model`, `variant`, `year`, `fuel_type`, `transmission`, `odometer_km`, `asking_price` (rupees), `city`, `description`, `photo_urls` (the first is the cover), `finance_available`, `color`, `body_type`, `seating_capacity`, `cubic_capacity_cc`, `horsepower_bhp`, `insurance_valid_months`, `puc_valid_months`, `created_at`, `updated_at`. Costs, margins, registration and chassis numbers are never included. ## GET /vehicles/{id} One published vehicle, by `id` or `slug`. `404` if it is not published. ## POST /leads Sends an enquiry or a test-drive request to the dealer. It appears under Leads in the dealer app and the dealer is notified. ```json { "name": "Ravi Kumar", "phone": "+91 98765 43210", "email": "ravi@example.com", "message": "Is it still available?", "vehicle_id": "", "kind": "TEST_DRIVE", "preferred_at": "2026-11-01T10:30:00+05:30", "website": "" } ``` - `name`, `phone` and `email` are required. `kind` is `ENQUIRY` (default) or `TEST_DRIVE`. - `TEST_DRIVE` needs a `vehicle_id` of a published vehicle and a `preferred_at` that is in the future and within 90 days (ISO 8601 with an offset). - `website` is a **spam trap**: add a hidden form field with this name and leave it empty. - The same person asking about the same vehicle (same kind) twice in a day is stored once. ## Limits and errors | Status | Meaning | | --- | --- | | 400 | A field is missing or invalid; `error` says which. | | 401 | No site key, or the key was replaced. | | 403 | The website is not on the allowed list. | | 404 | Vehicle or shop not available. | | 413 | Request body over 4 KB. | | 429 | Too many requests (per visitor, per key, or per shop per day). | Errors look like `{ "error": "message" }` and are written to be shown to a visitor. `GET` responses may be cached by the browser for 30 seconds. ## A minimal client ```js const API = "https://dealer.wheewise.com/api/site/v1"; const SITE_KEY = "wws_..."; export async function wheewise(path, init = {}) { const res = await fetch(API + path, { ...init, headers: { "X-Wheewise-Site-Key": SITE_KEY, "Content-Type": "application/json", ...init.headers }, }); const body = await res.json(); if (!res.ok) throw new Error(body.error || "Request failed"); return body; } export const getVehicles = (params = {}) => wheewise("/vehicles?" + new URLSearchParams(params)); export const sendLead = (lead) => wheewise("/leads", { method: "POST", body: JSON.stringify(lead) }); ``` --- # Troubleshooting and common questions > Fixes for sign-in, listings, the AI assistant and your own website. Source: https://www.wheewise.com/docs/troubleshooting ## Signing in - **I did not get the code.** Check spam, wait a minute, then choose to resend. Make sure you typed the same email address you signed up with. - **"We couldn't find an account for this email".** Choose **Create an account**, or sign in with the email you used before. Dealers sign in at dealer.wheewise.com, buyers at www.wheewise.com. - **I was sent to another site.** Your account's role decides where you belong: dealers are sent to the dealer app. ## Listings (dealers) - **My vehicle is not visible to buyers.** Its **listing status** must be **Active**. Internal status does not publish anything. - **My shop is not showing as active.** It needs 5 published vehicles. - **The Finance badge is missing.** Turn on **Finance available** for that vehicle. ## AI assistant - **"Your Wheewise token is invalid, expired or revoked".** Create a new token in Settings, AI assistant access. - **A change tool is missing.** The token is read-only. Create one with **Allow changes**. - **"Could not reach Wheewise".** Check your internet connection; the server needs outbound HTTPS. - **The assistant server will not start.** It needs Node.js 20 or newer and the token in `WHEEWISE_API_TOKEN`. ## Your own website - **"This website is not allowed to use this key".** Add the website's exact address (`https://myshop.com`, no path) under Settings, AI assistant access, Your own website, or ask the assistant to run `set_site_allowed_origins`. - **The vehicle list is empty.** Only **Active** vehicles appear. - **Leads do not arrive.** Check the browser's network tab for the error text. A 429 means too many tries; a 400 names the field to fix. - **I changed the site key and the site stopped working.** Replacing the key stops the old one at once; update the key in your website. ## Still stuck Ask the assistant on the [Help page](https://www.wheewise.com/help) (buyers) or **Help** in the dealer app (dealers), or file a complaint under **Settings, Help and grievance**.
